Do I need a gym or special equipment?
No. Jan adapts to whatever you have available. Full gym, home rack, dumbbells, resistance bands, or just bodyweight. Tell Jan what you have access to and the program works around it.
I'm a complete beginner. Will this work for me?
Yes. Jan calibrates to your level from day one and teaches form along the way through HD video demos and step-by-step technique cues. You don't need to know what RPE or RIR means before you start.
I'm training for a specific sport. Wrestling, climbing, jiu-jitsu, rugby, etc. Can Jan tailor for that?
Yes. Tell Jan what sport you're advancing in, your level, and what events or seasons matter to you. Programs include the strength, power, conditioning, mobility, and recovery work that sport actually demands. Wrestlers get explosive power, grip work, and weight-class-aware programming. Climbers get pull strength and finger health. As your season shifts, Jan adjusts intensity and emphasis. Tournaments and competitions on your calendar shape the plan.
I have an old injury or a current one. Can Jan handle that?
Yes. Tell Jan about pain, restricted movement, or anything you're rehabbing. The program routes around the issue, picks safe substitutions, and rebuilds capacity over time. If something flares up mid-program, just say so and the next session adjusts.
What is RIR and why does it matter?
RIR stands for Reps in Reserve. After each set, you tell Jan how many more reps you could have done. That's the cleanest signal of how hard you pushed. Jan uses it to dial intensity up or down on your next workout, automatically.
Does Jan actually pay attention, or do I have to drive everything myself?
Jan stays in the conversation. Skip a session and Jan asks why and reshuffles your week. Numbers stall and Jan flags it before you plateau. Log unusual soreness, fatigue, or a bad night of sleep, and the next workout dials back automatically. You still have to show up and do the work. You're just not doing it alone with a static plan.
Can I ask Jan about nutrition, or is this only workouts?
Ask away. Protein targets, calories for cutting or building, meal timing around training, supplements, eating around competition weight cuts, recovery food, hydration. Jan remembers your goals, your training load, and your context, so the answers fit you instead of the average reader of a fitness blog.
How much does it cost?
Jan is available as a subscription through the App Store and Google Play. Current pricing and any free trial are shown when you download the app. Cancel anytime from your device's subscription settings.
What devices does Jan run on?
Jan runs on iPhone and Android phones. A web companion is available for trainers and advanced users at trainyourway.ai.
Will Jan track my progress over time?
Every workout is captured: exercises, sets, reps, weight, RIR, total volume, time. You see your progress build week over week, and Jan uses the same data to keep the plan moving forward.
